On April 5th, 2022, the Italian team composed by Politecnico di Milano (PoliMi) and Refugees Welcome Italia (RWI) held the first of four multiplier events envisioned by the project. A mixed audience of scholars, educators, and practitioners gathered to discuss how to design innovative learning experiences.

On October 14, 2021 the course ended with a final online meeting. The whole community of learners and teachers gathered to evlaute the live workshops, share the outputs of the Milan workshop, and assess the validity of the course

The Milan live workshop (6 – 12 September 2021) explored the possibility of producing a different, more complex and respectful narrative about a marginalized district of the city. It was based on different activities which helped the production of a knowledge shared between researchers, teachers, learners, local associations, and the inhabitants themselves.

The Berlin live workshop (28 June – 4 July 2021) explored the link between arts, architecture, and cohabitation by a set of crafting activities. The aims was to build a series of structures for a site in Marzahn (East Berlin) hosting homeless people and asylum seekers mainly coming from Central Asia.

The call for participation to our educational offer is now open. Each partner will set up a specific selection process aiming at individuating the eighteen learners that will participate into this pilot project. The learning journey will take in a blended modality, part online and part through two seven-day live workshops.

The remote meetings held between May and June 2020 saw the partners pursuing the design of the educational offer in view of the activities (online and in the field) to be held between February and June 2021; the general structure of the blended experience was one of the main focuses of the meetings.

The first training (Milan, 21 – 23 January 2020) explored the interface between the social inclusion of migrants and the experiences in non-conventional teaching of architecture, urban design and planning, with the aim of laying the foundations of a new pedagogy on migration-related issues, addressed to educators and students.
