Care
Feminist scholar Joan Tronto famously described care as: “everything we do to maintain, continue, and repair ‘our world’”. Care is at the same time labour (I take care of), affect (I care for), and ethics/politics (the ethics of care). A caring relation is based on the commitment to improve the conditions of those who are cared-for: people, things and environments. Resources in this section explore how care may materialise in cities through solidarity, mutual support and collaboration, and how it may affect places and social networks.
